Libby and Laura, friends since high school, have experienced it all together...college, first jobs, graduate school, marriage, and the most life-changing event—BABIES!
An interesting thing happened when Isabel, Jack, Gavin, Sara, and Jacob came into their lives...they started using baby products and, suddenly, they became women on a mission. In search of only the best, safest, healthiest, and of course, Earth-friendliest products for their little ones, Libby and Laura searched high and low for products that made the cut. Their searches proved difficult. Even when they did find products that seemed to fit their criteria, ideas for improving that product start popping into your head. Why didn't Company A just make the strap on Bouncy Seat X a little softer? Why does the fabric on High Chair Y have creases that act as magnets to fallen crumbs? And, why do so many products contains chemicals X, Y, and Z?
 Time flew, and suddenly their babies were ready for their first pre-walker shoes. The only problem was that none of the options made the cut. As usual, questions started popping up! Why are none of the available soft-soled baby shoes animal-free? When using the leather options on the market, why does the leather crack after several washings? Why do the suede soles become slick with wear? Why does the leather become scuffed when my baby crawls? Why do all leather soft-soled shoes, regardless of brand, look the same? Why are none of the available options made in the USA?
Confident that there was much room for improvement, Libby and Laura decided it was time to take action! They started researching fabric, design and style options. The list of requirements grew. The shoes had to be healthy for our babies and healthy for the Earth. They had to be soft and comfy on our little ones' feet. They had to be easy for us to put on, but hard for our kids to pull off. They wanted them machine-washable and machine-dryable. They had to be breathable, durable, skid-proof, and fade-resistant. Oh, and last but certainly not least...they had to be hip and stylish! We found the perfect, 100% animal-free fabrics and started making shoes for their own kids. They mixed bright, funky colors with unique ribbon accents. Soon, their friends wanted them. Then, their friends asked for them, and so on. Before they knew it, IsaBooties was born!
